I've always wondered what prototype (if any) Lionel used as the basis for the 2400 series passenfer cars - they certainly don't look like anything that would have come from Budd or Pullman Standard.

Description. Here is a set of early postwar passenger cars. These cars are named for towns in northern New Jersey located near Lionel's factory. #2400-Maplewood, #2410-Hillside, #2402 Chatham. They are in pretty close to like new condition with almost no wear on the shells. The yellow stripes and detailing is almost perfect.Six Lionel 2400 series passenger cars.
