I seriously doubt the gears are broken, probably just got jammed and broke the shear bolt. The 346 is a fairly high capacity baler and should be able to take a lot of hay. You should get a genuine JD shear bolt.... or several, don't use a normal bolt. 24T needles are AE12494 or AE15136. 336 needles are AE15136 or AE36262 or AFH202537. Scratch some paint off and see if there is any red, orange, or blue paint under there. That's a brand issue. You're gonna need a volunteer to measure the tip to bolt distance of a legit 336 needle and go from there.

They are very good balers and highly sought after. There is a million and one grease fittings on them. I like to grease them after 600 or so bales.
