There's weapons all over the place in the game and when you get further in you'll find yourself dropping weapons all the time because you don't have room. Just find the dude that gives you weapom slots for korok seeds. Also getting more powerful ones means less hits to kill. You should try playing it normally.

Hence the glitch part of the process. The game thinks you have swapped weapons but doesn’t actually swap them so the durability of the hammer goes onto the weapon you swapped to. I have heard some reasons why people dont like weapon durability, but I'd like to understand these arguments a little better! Either way, hope you are all still enjoying BOTW as much as I am! I think the weapon durability feature would be better if there were a way to repair weapons using materials you gather, and if there were a durability meter.For immersion, only certain weapons can be repaired (can't repair a tree branch or a wooden spear but you can always reforge a metal sword, spear, or axe). Ive seen countless arguments on various forums saying that BOTW would simply not work without weapon durability and frankly I think every single argument falls apart when scrutinized. What I want to talk about here are 3 main things 1. The list of arguments people use to defend the durability system and my counters to these popular arguments. 2. Even a Royal Broadsword is more useful since it does more damage and therefore lasts longer with its Flurry rush buff passive. It doesn't even do more damage and have more durability near malice like in BotW. It does shine when inside chasms but it doesn't seem to behave any differently. 1. If you had a regular Hylian shield, the shield would have 90 G and 800 D. This makes the P value = 15. So it would last a total of 53 hits before breaking. So a total of 73 hits with the 360 durability up bonus. However if you had a guard up of 144, the P value would be 4. And the shield would survive 200 whole hits before breaking.
