2 days ago · I have a 2010 Nissan X w/ 4x4 H&L capability My car occasionally throws up VDC Off and Slip warning lights. Sometimes it will allow me to still drive and sometimes it will die and throw up the battery light. I am always able to restart my car after it dies. The lights do not always come on. When the car is turned on, the VDC system activates automatically. Turning the car off and back on should turn the VDC system back on if it has been switched off and the Vehicle Dynamic Control OFF indicator light is on in the display. It might also be possible to restart the system by pressing the VDC button once more. If you have a problem with your Xterra’s VDC system, you can reset the light by following these steps: 1. I've purchased a 2005 xterra, GREAT vehicle. Since I've had it [purchased 12/2005] the 'VDC oFF' & 'SLIP' indicator lights have came ON and stayed ON until Reset by procedure in manual. Took it to the dealer, they 'reset' the code/module. Not even a week later, the lights are back on. It's a bit annoying - not even 2000 miles on it yet.
