Hello, I was given a H & R Model 732 .32 caliber revolver S & W with a serial number that starts with the letter A and is followed by 6 digits. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on this piece. This revolver is an H&R Premier. it appears to be a first model manufactured between 1895 and 1904. In order to determine the year of manufacture, I need to know the markings on the top of the barrel and the serial number found on the bottom of the top strap (cylinder must be removed to see).

The gun is numbered 224460, but it looks like whoever was stamping numbers the day it was made put 224660 on the bottom of the grip and then corrected the mistake by overstamping the first 6 with a 4.
