Because of some reason even though I managed to get X pregnant once, the second time I got a message that combined genes exceeded metabolism limit (they do, but I though that if I allow it with a checkmark at the start of the game I would be fine). Discussion. I made a fun colony I want to continue prior to this recent patch. I made a custom xenotype and the colonists have more genes than metabolism allows. After this update, none of them can get pregnant anymore. I now get this error: Pregnancy failed: combined genes exceeded metabolism limits.
