UPDATE: Lenono fixed my laptop. Not sure if they replaced the hinge, or gave me an entire new chassis and just swapped the HD. It says they replaced the hinge, LCD bevel and the back cover, but even the keyboard is missing the stickers that were on it, so I think it was entirely replaced, which makes more sense and was probably than just replacing the hinge.Those rusty edges, loose hinges, and illegible numbers are a problem. The hinge on my trusty old Lenovo Y700 has gotten so tight that every time I open or close it the keyboard flexes dramatically. Some tech dude noticed this when I brought it in for a different issue and just told me not to open or close it but that's not really an option lol.

The problem is that the brass nuts where the hinge screws in the back panel, are sourounded by brittle black plastic. (Even though the cover might be made of aluminium they cheap out with mounting it on a plastic frame). Adding the fact that the hinges are very stiff this stresses the plastic to the breaking point pulling the brass nut out.
