My rig has over 8000 miles on it now and I only rarely have a slight "idle fluctuation". I would not call it a vibration as it is too smooth to be annoying. The surging you (OP) speak of, might be the transmission "shifting" up a gear, as you gently coast to a stop.

This issue also shows up on all of the Hyundai forums because this engine is a Hyundai design/build. My 2.0 will exhibit rough idling about 7 - 10 times a month. Mine has been doing this since I drove it off the lot.
