When putting the new one on I used silicone gasket maker to seal it. Alternator doesn’t appear to be coated in oil. If the front passenger side tip of the oil pan is constantly wet then it is the oil pump. That oil leak eventually results in streaks coming down the side then to the bottom of the oil pan. Yep, that's the spool valve leak. Unfortunately you're likely too late to save your alternator. But get that leak fixed and then I would replace the alternator.
