A lot of guys recommend Rotella 15w40 diesel oil. It doesnt have the friction modifiers that regular car oils have that cause clutch slippage. From the basics of what I read prior to buying it, the fixes sounded fairly simple. I'm getting a hard lesson in Honda es. I own 2- 1999 Trx250 that run great and are easy to repair and maintain. I've talked to the guy who makes the es shift kits. They don't make one for the Rancher 400.

2007 Rancher 420 Wont Shift. My Rancher wont shift. I cant hear nothing and no lights are flashing on gauge. Everything works and will start up fine. I had a guy test my ecm and he said it had power goin to it but no power going to es shifter. But another guy said its rare for a ecm to go out to check all connections and make sure the is no short.

I bought a 08 Honda rancher 420 foot shift on 27 inch og outlaws and the person I bought it from said it had a 35% gear reduction or a clutch kit I can't remember but is there a way to check? It turns the 27s like nothing. 420's and 500's there is no cheap gear reduction. They're all about $425-450.
