This hood sensor appears to have issues and. it has been confirmed as the source. I still do not have manual (sport) mode and need. a schematic for it if anyone has one. Quote. In my 2018 Explorer, "Sport" mode was totally jacked up by the factory. The shift schedule was the same as Drive and it doesn't want to stay in the numerically lower gears as much as Sport mode in the SHO/Fusion Sport. If anything, the "Sport" mode on the Explorer XLT is more like manual mode with the Sport mode pedal ratio.
