The goal here would be to have a running and driving n55 or b58 powered xdrive f31 wagon, pushing roughly around 400whp. Who want to see it done? I'm thinking it'd be easiest to swap over literally the entire wiring harness and modules from the f30 and then just add a few wires for the trunk specific things and code it in.

2017 G30 540i M Sport [0.00] B58 swap out questions. I spun a bearing in my G30 so I replaced the original engine w a rebuilt long block. I finished the swap yesterday. The only things I've changed that wasn't on the original block was an oil pressure switch. The original injectors are in same cylinders in the new block as are everything else.The B58 is a stout block that can withstand aggressive tuning and abuse, and there are already B58s with 200K+ miles with little to no issues. The B58 will be more reliable and require less maintenance than the S58. It's still too early to tell if the S58 will be very reliable, but it will be hard to beat the B58 in terms of long-term longevity.328i engine swap. So I’ve had my 2012 328i for over a year and did the basic maintenance pretty regularly. Tuned it and upgraded a few parts to keep it somewhat reliable and the engine blew up anyways.
