The cam will change the compression ratio more than a head gasket will. The increase of compression with a .030 head gasket isn't worth it IMO why tear down the heads and do …

andrews 57. I installed 57H cams last winter in a 103. From the stock cam I lost a little on the bottom end. I learned to ride with a little more R's and love the power that comes on at about 3200 RPM. When I'm running at 3500 RPM, the slightest twist of the throttle just makes the bike surge.

The factory pistons are already .010 down in cylinders, so you effectively end up with .040 quench if you use a .030 head gasket.
