It because Niantic was focused on doing "app detection" ban waves. Emulators got frequent ban waves because everyone had the same device ID. It's impossible for 10,000 people to be using the same emulated smartphone around the world at the same time. Niantic failed when Pgsharp never had a ban wave except when it was used inside an emulator.

This does not mean PGSharp is "safe" or "ban proof." You can actually still get a strike with PGSharp without using an emulator. In June Niantic stated they were done with doing ban waves. That those were over and a thing of the past. Not seeing anything for two weeks doesn't mean people weren't getting strike notices. If you stop using your main account, you could maybe dodge the upcoming ban wave. No one knows 100% sure which spoofing methods are detected for both Android and iOS. I think it's mostly iPogo, Xspoofer (iSpoofer's replacement), and whatever iOS bot is called for iOS. Ban waves stopped in June of last year. They changed their cheat detection to ongoing 24/7, 365. Just logging into a modded app like pgsharp will set you up for a strike. I highly recommend not using pgsharp ever. It doesnt matter what you do or dont do on a modded app. Just logging in is the problem. You need to spoof on a rooted andriod phone.
The whole point of cheating is to go give yourself an unfair advantage in return, you have to deal with the strike/ban system.
